Our Technologies

We use the latest, most accurate tools to get a clear, complete picture.

Sutureless Placement of Amniotic Membrane Tissues

This treatment involves a human amniotic membrane that is transplanted onto the patient’s eyes to treat a variety of eye surface conditions. In the past, this surgery has required sutures or glue, but the latest, less-invasive version of this treatment requires neither.

Optical Coherence Tomography

This non-invasive imaging test takes detailed pictures of the retina, allowing our doctors to measure the thickness of the retina. This measurement can help diagnose glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and other disorders.

Fundus Photography

Fundus photography takes a picture of the back of the eye (the fundus), including the central and peripheral retina, optic disc, and macula. Fundus photographs are taken with an intricate microscope attached to a flash-enabled camera, and they are used to identify numerous diseases and disorders.

Corneal Topography

Corneal topography refers to a three dimensional map of the surface curvature of the cornea, which is created with a computer-assisted diagnostic tool. Think of the cornea as the front window of the eye—it’s responsible for about 70 percent of the eye’s focusing power. An ideal cornea is evenly rounded, but if the cornea is too flat, too steep, or unevenly curved, that will affect a patient’s vision.

Electroretinogram

An electroretinogram (ERG) is a test that detects abnormal function of the retina (the light-detecting portion of the eye). This test examines the eye’s light-sensitive cells, rods and cones, and the retina’s ganglion cells. Doing so assists in diagnosing an array of disorders and diseases.

Visually Evoked Potential

Taken with an electroencephalogram (EEG), a visually evoked potential assesses your brain’s ability to interpret complex visual signals. This test helps in identifying neurological factors that may be affecting a patient’s vision.

Humphrey Visual Field Testing

The Humphrey visual field test is an eye examination used to asses peripheral vision. The state of a patient’s peripheral vision can offer clues to whether dysfunctions are caused by glaucoma, stroke, pituitary disease, brain tumors, or other neurological issues.
